The Latest...

As usual, things have been busy around here. We are feeling a little more ready for becoming a family of four!! I have washed all of the infant clothes, we got some diapers, have almost finished getting the nursery ready, and hauled much of the equipment upstairs from the basement (and wiped it down as it was covered in cement dust from the last house). I am going to be 37 weeks on tues (or 3 weeks from the due date), so it is coming up fairly quickly. Things seem to be progressing normally pregnancy-wise, and I am still feeling good with some mild back aches after long days with Cole.

This past weekend we went out to the Bellevue parade with G-Ma & G-Pa Poutre. Cole really enjoyed watching the firetrucks and cheerleaders the most. We did have to leave a little early to get home and meet the HVAC guys after a scare with a broken furnace blower that resulted in no AC for a few days.

This weekend was also full with a piano/violin recital given by two of my high school classmates and drinks following with a good portion of our class. It was great to catch up with everyone and see what they have been up to for the past nine years!! Then sat we headed down to the Air Force Base for the annual air show and walked through a handful of "big big airplanes!!" Cole really enjoyed seeing all the planes as well as watching a few of them perform from the air. He was not so impressed with the F-16 as it was REALLY loud from 100 yards off the runway (maybe in a few years). Today I got to stay home from work and we managed to make it down to see the Navy Blue Angels perform as part of the air show that we missed yesterday.

I think that pretty much sums up our last couple of weeks. This coming weekend we are headed down to St Louis for Laura & Bill's wedding!! Then we are not allowed to leave the area again until after the baby...

Nursery Painting Progress

We finished putting up the stripes in the nursery, now all that is left is the blue circles on the long wall. Then we are going to add some red picture frames with Dr Seuss images in them and it will be time for furniture!!
In other news, it's been another busy weekend of working (Me), mowing (Chris), and birthday parties for friends (Cole)...

Lounging...

We took Cole out to try the new water park in Fremont tonight. They had a train with slides in it and sprinklers coming out of it, a couple of waterslides (that only Daddy got to trial), and a wave pool (that we never did make it into). It was a great pool for little kids as most of the pool is shallow water (the deepest part is 6').

But after we got home, Cole and Daddy were both really tired and decided to just lay down on the couch for a bit...

Nursery Update

So, after a busy weekend of celebrating with family and friends we finally started working on the nursery. We are doing a yellow stripe pattern with blue circles and a Dr Seuss theme. Tonight we got the first coat of the base yellow up and hope to get a little done each night this week. I will try and get pictures up of the progress.
Meanwhile, Cole is still very busy with all of his new toys and we are getting back into the swing of normalcy around here (for a few weeks anyway). We are now less than 6 weeks from the due date for Baby 2 who weighed in at 4lb 12oz via ultrasound yesterday. All is going well with the pregnancy, Cole talks about the "new baby" but we really aren't sure that he has a clue what is about to happen to his peaceful little world.
Next step, wash the newborn clothes and maybe I should buy some diapers...

Wait...Grace!!

We have always said grace before dinner, but Cole usually doesn't wait to start eating. So last night, I sat down with him (Chris was out mowing and missed dinner with us) and Cole waited (after a gentle reminder) for me to say grace before starting to eat. Then, after he finished his first serving and I got him second's, I sat down and continued eating at which time he promptly said "Wait!! Grace," folded his hands, and was waiting for me to say grace again so he could start eating.
It's moments like this that make the naughty times tolerable :-)

2 Already??

How is it possible that Cole is already 2?? I can't believe how time flies as a parent!! A few updates, we went to the Dr today for the usual check-up and Cole now weighs a hefty 25lb 15oz (which is the 25%) and stands 34.75" (60%) tall. He checked out beautifully, and we don't have to take him back for another year (until he gets sick of course).
Chris spent last weekend finishing up building our new playset in the backyard, so Cole is now enjoying sliding and swinging from the comforts of home.
We are now preparing for the birthday party this weekend, and then will be turning our focus to the nursery design (it's only 7 weeks away)!!
