Oh, and Cole is going to be a fireman, but won't wear the costume since the first night when he wouldn't take it off!! So, he had on his fireman boots, but would not keep the jacket or hat on despite our best efforts...we will see how tonight goes!!

Trick or Treating...Part 1
The things we do for our kids. These are the cookies we made for Cole's class at school, yes they are only 2 and have no idea they are in fun Halloween shapes :)
I truly believe the teachers at our daycare deserve an award after corralling all of the kids around the building to trick-or-treat and then explaining to them that they can't eat the candy they just collected until after they go home. They invite parents to join in the fun, so Easton and I headed down to help Cole's class go around. It was only 30 minutes, but I was ready for a nap when we left!! We tried to get a group shot, but Cole wanted to stand by me, and Henry (in the white) wanted to stand with his dad, so it took several tries to get the shots we did! I think next year, I will just stay home and watch from the web-cams as Cole seemed more concerned that I was going to leave him there and missed the fun of the whole thing.

Huskers vs Iowa State
After the volleyball team got beat by Iowa State on Wed, the football team wasn't much better today :(
G-Ma & G-Pa Poutre had their first day with both the boys (thank you) so Chris and I could go down to the FB game (thanks G-Ma Pat).
This was the view from our seats!!
Guess Cole & Easton will get to dress more like Daddy next year...that's what happens in a split household ;)

Meeting Great Grandma & Grandpa Hoidal
We drove up to Sioux City last weekend to have dinner with Grandpa Doug, Uncle Brian, and Great G-Ma & G-Pa Hoidal. We had one of the best dinners in a restaurant we have ever had with Cole, let alone with Easton. It even managed to restore Chris' faith in Famous Dave's (don't ask if you haven't already heard the story). I am sure it will not be the last of these outings now that we realized how incredibly easy it was :-)

Easton Update
I realize I have been a little lax on pictures of Easton, so here's a few...
He has been a great baby so far, just eating and sleeping. He is starting to realize that he needs to speak up when he wants something but still doesn't seem to mind having trains driven over him during naptimes :) He weighs 9lbs now and is starting to look around like he is processing a little more each day. We will see what his temprament becomes as time goes on...

Water Sprayer
Who knew entertaining a toddler could be so easy!!
Cole found the sprayer in the garage...and decided to wash our cars and the driveway. Chris refilled the water twice before Cole was convinced he had sprayed enough of the yard :)

Back on the Horse...
So I realize I haven't posted since the arrival of Easton...thought I should try and get some of the stories up before I forget them.
We had our first family-of-4 outing Tuesday afternoon to the zoo. We were trying to find a place to go that Cole would enjoy but wouldn't expose Easton to too many nasty bugs. The outdoors of the zoo on a wonderful 60 degree day was perfect. Plus, it had the added bonus of getting a little sun on Easton to help with the jaundice :) Cole had a blast climbing on the train (it was parked with no engine cause we got there too late to actually ride it), and the only animals we missed due to the time were the elephants (apparently they go to bed early). It was nice to get out and move a little and Cole really enjoyed the time with us. Easton pretty much slept through the whole thing, pausing briefly to eat once.
Then yesterday, Cole went to school while Chris and I worked on pouring a concrete slab in the backyard for the hot tub. Easton happily obliged our request for just an hour and slept for a little over 2 hours while we checked on him through the kitchen window. The cats were babysitting :)
This morning we couldn't decide what to do, until Chris suggested we go to Lowe's while we were watching the "dirt truck" re-grading our road. So, with a very excited Cole we packed up and headed to Lowe's and Menards. Easton didn't get to enjoy the Menards trip due to needing to eat just about the time we arrived. And, just for the record Cole knows the difference between Lowe's and Home Depot. He can spot a hardware store from a mile away in the car...and name it correctly!
That pretty much sums up our week. The agenda for tomorrow includes nap time and relaxing before Chris goes back to work and I figure out how things are going to work here at home with the boys by myself. So far Cole seems to be adjusting better than expected to the new addition and Easton has yet to be phased by the noise and poking while sleeping. We couldn't have asked for a better first week and thanks to everyone for your support :)
P.S. Pictures coming soon!!
