Guess it's been a while...

Apparently it's been a busy few weeks around here seeing as I haven't been very good about posting anything.

We have finally recovered from Cole's battle with who knows what kinds of bugs. He was on eye, ear, and oral antibiotics for about a week after the fourth. We are now down to just finishing off the oral round and hopefully can return to no meds again shortly.

Chris was out of town for work for a few days and Cole and I headed to Lincoln for a night at the park. We stopped off for some KFC and took G-Ma Pat and Pam to one of the coolest parks we have ever been to. Of course, no park visit would be complete without some ice cream...yes, Cole was eating it off the stick with a spoon :)

This past week, they had a carnival at school so Cole got his face painted. That evening, G-Ma Pat came up to play while Chris and I went out to celebrate our 4 year wedding anniversary.

Finally, we spent the day today out and about. We started out at the Gretna Days parade (Cole's first parade) where we saw all sorts of firetrucks, balloons, and the biggest tractor we have ever seen!!

Then, we finished off the evening at the Omaha Royals baseball game where our friend Jason Olson and his dad/brothers sang the national anthem. All in all, it's been a busy few weeks!!

It's always the 'best laid plans'...

We were awakened last night around midnight by Cole and he didn't manage to go back to bed until the wee hours of the morning. So, weary as we were, the morning started right on time at 7a. After one of the most productive mornings of late (I think it was the severe sleep deprivation) spent cleaning the house and building our new TV stand, we began to realize that Cole's eye(s) were quite red and weeping lovely greenish goo (sorry for the gross details). As the morning wore on, his right eye especially seemed to be getting redder and weeping more. Of course, being a holiday, the Pediatricians office was closed so we would have to wait until urgent care opened to see anyone. Well they open promptly when naptime should be beginning, so with hopes of a nap for everyone, we decided not to go until after Cole woke up.

After naptime, we headed off to urgent care expecting a lengthy wait and a crowded waiting room. Little did we know, we would instead be the only people in the office when we interrupted the nurses 'movie time' in the lobby. After a quick once over and an official 'pink eye' diagnosis, we headed off to find an open Walgreens to fill our prescription.

Needless to say, our hopes of attending a BBQ at our old neighbors house were quickly dashed. Instead, we put our meat on our own grill and had a lovely evening at home just the three of us. Sometimes, there is a positive to all of the negative. Cole was able to head for bed on time while Chris mowed the lawn, and then we sat out on the deck and watched all of the area fireworks.

Now, we are simply hoping for a full night of sleep...Happy 4th of July!!

Happy 4th of July!!

Just want to wish everyone a Happy Fourth!! I will try and post again soon with some pictures from lately.
