We were awakened last night around midnight by Cole and he didn't manage to go back to bed until the wee hours of the morning. So, weary as we were, the morning started right on time at 7a. After one of the most productive mornings of late (I think it was the severe sleep deprivation) spent cleaning the house and building our new TV stand, we began to realize that Cole's eye(s) were quite red and weeping lovely greenish goo (sorry for the gross details). As the morning wore on, his right eye especially seemed to be getting redder and weeping more. Of course, being a holiday, the Pediatricians office was closed so we would have to wait until urgent care opened to see anyone. Well they open promptly when naptime should be beginning, so with hopes of a nap for
everyone, we decided not to go until after Cole woke up.
After naptime, we headed off to urgent care expecting a lengthy wait and a crowded waiting room. Little did we know, we would instead be the only people in the office when we interrupted the nurses 'movie time' in the lobby. After a quick once over and an official 'pink eye' diagnosis, we headed off to find an open Walgreens to fill our prescription.
Needless to say, our hopes of attending a BBQ at our old neighbors house were quickly dashed. Instead, we put our meat on our own grill and had a lovely evening at home just the three of us. Sometimes, there is a positive to all of the negative. Cole was able to head for bed on time while Chris mowed the lawn, and then we sat out on the deck and watched all of the area fireworks.

Now, we are simply hoping for a full night of sleep...Happy 4th of July!!
