Soo Busy

Well, since my last update we have been up to the cabin, played at the air show, Cole started soccer, and Chris and I went to Boston!!

Our cabin trip was a wonderful weekend spent with family just hanging out. Chris and Brian tried out a new wind surfer which they were able to get out of the water, but we were a little afraid we were going to have to retrieve them from the middle of the lake!!

The air show was rather chilly and rainy this year. We got there early and wandered around all the planes, getting in a few. But they were not able to fly due to the weather, so we headed out earlier than originally planned.

Cole started playing soccer on Saturday mornings. They play for an hour and it is comprised of different drills for the hour. No official games at this age. Each kid gets their own ball the entire time and they are just emphasizing the skills rather than just letting them run up and down the field.

And finally, Chris and I headed to Boston for a few days last week. Chris had a conference for work and I just tagged along for the fun of it. We did some sight seeing and spent time with Mallary (my cousin) and Douglas who happened to live in the suburb we were staying in.

Our train ride into "the city"

We saw Blue Man Group, it was awesome!!

Mallary's E-Coli (she is in a Doctoral program at Brandeis)

The State House, according to Mallary: "I think they still do some official s**t there." It was a wonderful guided tour :)

I am hoping to get a birthday post up for E's 2nd birthday this weekend, but it's gonna be a pretty busy weekend so we will see. We went in for his check up yesterday and he looks great. He is still tall and skinny. Measuring 34.75" tall (63%) and 25lbs 2.5oz (16%). We area heading out to Touch A Truck this weekend followed by a birthday dinner on Sunday with family.

Hot Air Balloons

This past weekend there was a Hot Air Balloon show in Omaha. It was being held about half way between my work and home. So I got to see all the excitement on my way home from work Friday night. The balloons had already taken off so I followed a couple of them through the sky on my way home. Then I pulled into the neighborhood only to realize that one of them had actually LANDED in the neighbors front yard!! It was a pretty cool thing to watch them pack it up (it was already deflated by the time we saw it).

So then Saturday we were having dinner with Chris' family and shortly after the boys went to bed the balloons were back out in the sky. This time TWO of them landed in our neighbors yards and one actually landed in the cornfield just to the north of us. Thankfully, Allison had her camera and took some awesome pictures. After watching them land and get packed up, the girls decided to head over and see the glow.

Yes, Grandpa ate at the kids table :)

Sometimes there are perks to living in the middle of nowhere :)

Cole is 4!!

It seems the week long celebration for Cole's birthday is winding down. We started by going to the zoo on Wednesday...
He didn't want his picture taken :(

Riding the train

They even had bounce houses for Cole's birthday (or so he thinks)
Then Thursday Gina came in to visit and we had dinner with Chris' side of the family...
He did this on his own :)

His new Lightning McQueen bike

And a pirate ship to decorate

No caption needed...

Really cute picture of E and Cole wrote his name from the inside of the boat, completely backwards but not upside down.

The first ride

His train cake

Playing with Gina, yay!!

Finally today, we went in for his 4 year visit to the Dr. She said he looks great and he was even able to get his flu mist. He weighed in at a hefty 31 lbs (putting him in the 10%) and is 39.3" tall (climbing to the 27%).

Whew...what a busy few weeks.

Just in case anyone is wondering, Cole's 4th Birthday post is coming up tomorrow (that's when we head to the Dr) :)

In the meantime, here's a few other updates from the past few weeks (or a month, oops).

We got a new Geothermal heat pump to replace our old furnace AND A/C. You can simply google Geothermal if you want to know more about all of it, but this is all we have in the basement now!!

And this is our new water heater. So anytime you want to come visit, you can rest assured there will be a hot shower :)
This is the latest concrete creation by Chris, isn't it beautiful!!

And finally, Cole got a new "big boy" bed. (I did get a skirt for it, it just wasn't on when I took this and he is sleeping in it now). He loves his new Thomas bed and we have had no problems making the transition, yay!!
