Air Show 2010

The annual Offutt Air Show was this weekend...among several other activites (see the previous post). We went with G-Ma & G-Pa P. again and it was really nice. There was a bit of a breeze which helped with the 90 degree weather and someone was looking out for E's naptime in scheduling all the jets for later in the afternoon (when we were already gone). Cole was covered in hives (we are still not sure what from), so we didn't stay as long as expected...but still had a nice time. He was also very afraid the planes were going to take off while we were walking through them.
Just about the time G-Ma and I had him convinced that they were all taking naps and would not be going anywhere, G-Pa added "maybe" to that sentence and we had to start over (thanks G-Pa!!). Then he told Cole that if he pushed any of the buttons the planes would take off with us on them, and I think we only walked through one other after that.
Who doesn't love picnic lunch at the air show!! Yes, E has some of Cole's pizza in his hand...and yes, he ate the whole piece :)
After lunch, we headed back to G-Ma & G-Pa's house for naps. Then took the truck out to watch the Thunderbirds do their show from the top of a hill in Bellevue. Not sure if Cole enjoyed playing in the tailgate or watching the planes better :) I KNOW E enjoyed the back of the truck the best. AND I managed to get some really cute pictures.
And G-Ma was wonderful at getting a couple pictures with ME in them!!!! We really have to get better at that :)
Finally convinced E to wear the hat that matched his overalls. It was a really cute outfit that I am sure he will never wear again :)
The jets were pretty loud flying right above us...I think the phrase was "you might be a redneck..."

How has it been another week??

A week in review...

Mon: Work

Tues: Half day class for work and Chris took the boys to the zoo with Justin, Cady, & Zach. Then we went back to their house and Chris and Justin demolished a wall!!

Wed: I had the rest of my class for work and then we went back to Justin and Jess' to finish the wall demo :) The boys finished the wall while Jess and I took 4 kids under 4 to DQ for some dessert. It was quite comical!!

Thurs: The calendar was EMPTY!! Which was a good thing cause Easton had a runny nose and Cole was ready for some time at home. That evening we took Chris' bike in for some maintenance and went out to dinner just the four of us. It was really nice to just sit and enjoy dinner as a family. Then we got home and Cole had started to get pink eye so after some digging in the medicine cabinet I found the drops from the 4th of July pink eye last year.

Fri: We slept in and then took Easton to school so Cole and I could have some time just the two of us. Cole had his 3 year check-up in the morning. He weighed in at 28lbs (15%) and 36" (15%) tall. I have always said he is a little guy, but at least he is ahead of me at the same age :) He had to get one immunization which went really well but he is still limping on that leg and refused to put any weight on it that day. Then we ran some errands and headed home for nap. That afternoon we had Cole's 3 year pictures (hopefully they will be up before too long). Fri evening we had "date night" for Nick and Stacy's baby shower. Cole went to Lincoln for a night with G-Ma Pat and Nan while Easton went to Bellevue for some G-Ma and G-Pa P. time. Chris cooked us some wonderful stuffed steaks and we headed out for the shower.

Sat: After getting to sleep in until 9a for the first time in about a year we headed to pick up E and took him to swimming lessons. Meanwhile, Cole got to tour the Lincoln Childrens Zoo and apparently had a wonderful time!! Then this afternoon we headed for Annabelle's birthday party.

I think that's it for the past week!! Tomorrow we are heading to the Air Show on base. For now, the boys have already crashed and I am soon to follow...

Quiet Weekend

We finally had a weekend with nothing on the calendar...and that turned out to be a really good thing. Friday evening Cole had a fever of 102.5 and Easton was covered in a rash of some sort. The pediatrician said the rash was more than likely viral and Cole's fever only lasted about 24hours and seems to have resolved.

That said, we spent the weekend at home getting things done around here and setting up/rearranging the new trains all over the house. We moved the dining room table allowing Cole to leave his tracks set up and out of the reach of "Easton-zilla" :)

Easton helping fold laundry.

The new Thomas trains that are now residing in the basement (so they too can stay set up).

Cole Turned 3!!!!!

When we weren't looking Cole turned 3!!! He has his annual visit to the Dr next Fri so will update with the current stats after that.

It appears I have been rather lacking in updates lately. I have started at least 6 and then got pulled away for whatever reason. Things have been really busy as well, so computer time has been limited. I just finished taking pictures off the cameras from ALL of July (oops). So here are the highlights of our happenings lately...without the pictures (sorry, can't seem to make up my mind).

We spent 4th of July in SD at the cabin which was wonderful. Cole learned to fish, we played on the new boat/tube, attempted skiing (more like just made fools of ourselves), and thoroughly enjoyed time with family!!
Chris and I celebrated 5 wonderful years of marriage in the middle of July. We are planning a celebratory trip in November so just had a nice dinner here at home for the evening.
The boys started swimming lessons which has been great fun and Cole is finally getting comfortable putting his face under the water and blowing bubbles. Our new gym has a zero-entry pool so it has been great to just let the boys play in the water without it being so deep.

Cole started a new classroom at school this week as well. He is now a Caterpillar and moved up to the front of the building where they have actual preschool most of the day. He has computer time and gets to go out and play on the "big playground" which he seems to be enjoying.
Easton has learned to crawl and is pulling up on EVERYTHING!! He now has 4 teeth and seems to be grasping the concept of tantrums quite well recently.

Hopefully things will slow down a little around here and I will try and update a little more...
