Oops

So, simply out of habit I posted our latest pictures to our Picassa album after I uploaded them from the camera. However, I didn't realize how many of you are checking that album fairly regularly and have now sent us emails wondering what happened to our child in those pictures. I had intended to get a posting up before everyone saw the pictures, but clearly did not get that accomplished, sorry.

That said, Cole has been having issues with bloody noses lately and we are now running a humidifier in his room to remedy the situation. However, last weekend (while I was at work) Chris decided he didn't need the humidifier and this is what he woke up to the next morning.

Then later that same day they went to play at the park and Cole managed to flip over halfway down the slide and gave himself a fat lip. It was a tough weekend, but he is fine now and was quite proud of all his "bonks" lately.

In other news, E has another ear infection and we are going to visit the ENT on Monday in hopes of scheduling his tubes. Also, he got his first tooth last weekend!! Still no crawling, though he is becomming quite the stable sitter these days.

Oh how I love my spirited child

Cleaning his tricycle.

I discovered this when I opened the freezer to get something out for dinner. They were lined up perfectly enough that not one fell off when I opened the door!!

Let's Go Fly A Kite

See Daddy, the wind is blowing this way!!

Easton taking it all in.

Umm...

"Cole, let go of the tail!!"

The sun was getting a bit bright :(

One last attempt...and no, we never did get the stupid thing to fly. Had a good laugh trying though :)

The snail saga continues...

Well, the snail lived all of about 3 weeks. He was leaving lovely trails of cleanliness on the tank walls, and we enjoyed checking to see where he was hiding in the mornings. However, sometime in the past couple of days he appeared to have overeaten. He was in the same place in the tank every morning, and we finally declared him dead.

So, while getting some cat food today, Cole picked out a new snail for us to bring home. I never really went into any detail about what happened to the last one, and he never asked. So after spending several minutes in front of the tank, Cole had decided which one he wanted to bring home. I told the sales lady we were ready for the net and bag, and she happily scooped him up for us. I made a comment about him hopefully lasting longer than the last one, and she asked what kind of fish I had in the tank. I simply answered "a goldfish" (which is what they had in the snail tank as well) and she looked at Cole then quietly said "You know goldfish eat snails, right?" I was shocked, she said they will suck the snail right out of the shell. At this point, I wasn't going to take the snail away from Cole since he had already picked it out, but I was sure the snail at home was still in his shell (just upside down).

We brought our new snail back home, and I was telling Chris about my new knowledge tonight (after bedtime) when I went to check on the old snail. Sure enough, the shell is empty!!!!! So now we want to know how animal-loving Aunt Allison didn't warn us (WTF Allison!!!) that our goldfish would EAT the snail that is supposed to be innocently cleaning our tank. We have contributed to the death of an innocent creature, and possibly a second one for that matter. Not my proudest parental moment :(

Egg Hunts and Such

Along with everyone else this weekend, Happy Easter!!!

I am adding a late disclaimer to this post as I am about ready to throw my computer at the wall for how it is trying to arrange the pictures. So sorry for the complete mess of pictures at the bottom of the post, but you can figure it out.

Thought I should get back on the bandwagon of updating with funny stories and news of our happenings. In the past couple weeks E has gotten yet another ear infection (no we do not qualify for tubes yet, despite my begging for them), he has also started to sit up on his own and become a little more vocal when he wants something, Cole has taken a liking to coloring more and has been THRILLED to be playing outside again now that the weather is nice!! He even rode his tractor up to the playset in the backyard tonight (and didn't manage to run into any trees on the way).

Our Easter festivities started friday night when G-Ma & G-Pa P. took the boys overnight and colored eggs for the bunny in the morning. Then we spent most of Sat at their place doing an egg hunt and playing with all of the new toys. Almost everyone (except G-Ma and the Chris') took a nap in the afternoon, which I must say was quite nice. The highlight of the night was when one of the eggs they colored the night before turned into chocolate!! This is an old family tradition of which the secrets have yet to be passed down.

The Lincoln crew came up to our place this morning for another celebration. We decided it was the smallest family gathering in quite some time with only 6 of us (not counting the 4 boys)!! We hunted eggs (and toys) and had a lovely brunch before all of the boys decided it was time for a nap.

Cole and Devon starting the hunt
Jaydon was just happy to dump out his basket and put the eggs back in again :)
You would think the boys have never played together before.
Devon found some bubbles :)

We tried having a mini photo shoot in our family room this afternoon, since the boys were in matching outfits, but couldn't seem to get them both in the same shot ever. Those pictures will be soon to come as they are still on the camera for now. Would love to say I will update soon, but have a busy week full of work!!
