Hmm...

I am trying to get better at updating the blog as I have become rather lax lately and then can't remember what I last posted about.

This past week we had the pleasure of taking dinner to the new Naylor family of 4!! Cole's friend Annabelle (and her parents) welcomed baby Emmalynn last week and she is just adorable. We took them dinner along with some encouraging words that it does get easier :)

Cole and Josiah having a robot parade :)

Chris and baby Kaitlyn (she is the same age as E)

We had a playdate/dinner with our neighbors from Papillion and their kids. It was great to have some boys in the house for Cole to play with, but what a difference from when all his girl friends come over! We hadn't seen them since Halloween so it was great to catch up and just hang out for the night. Needless to say, Cole slept well that night and it was nice to have some discussions about their lack of sleep as well.

Then tuesday E went in for his follow up check after the third round of antibiotics for ear infections. He weighed in at 16lbs 6oz and 27 1/4" long (I had them measure to make sure he hasn't outgrown the car seat yet). His ears and lungs both checked out and she said we had her blessing to stop feeding him during the night. He has been getting up to eat at 10 and again sometime between 2-4. I am really continuing to feel the effects of the lack of sleep and Chris is having to get up in between those times for binkie replacement. So last night we stopped offering food after 10p. He was up several times during the night (not sure why), but took a binkie and went back to sleep. He was not very happy with me at 6:30 that food was not offered prior, but he ate and seems to have forgiven me for it now. We will see how tonight goes...

I'm too tall for my seat....

Easton is quickly outgrowing his "bucket" carseat. The pediatrician said we would be lucky to get past 6 months before he is past the height limit on our seat (which is the tallest one on the market). So, that in mind, we were in need of some new seats since E will be going into Cole's current seat in my car and E will need a new seat in Chris' car. They seem to like the new rides!!

This was just too cute not to post :)

Watching the olympics, of course!

Cole was soo proud that he put his chair up close to help when we are changing E's diaper. He just forgot that the back legs need to be standing on something before climbing in...good thing Daddy noticed the lack of support!

Apparently we have been busy...

Or I have been really slacking in the update area, oops. Sorry this will be a little lengthy, but after taking pictures off the camera I realized we have a few stories worth sharing.

Jason A. was in town for his pediatrics rotation and stopped out for dinner. It was the first time he had seen E, and Cole seemed to have no problem remembering who he was. They spent the evening running around playing.

Cole recently got his trains out and set up again. It's funny how the toys seem to cycle through our house.

Easton finally figured out how to roll over. He is consistently going from front to back, and can get 90% over from back to front. We are still waiting for the first tooth to appear, but the drool and chewing seem to suggest it is going to be soon. We are still working on getting him to sleep through the night. He went from 10-4 for a few nights just as a tease, but has been waking several times through the night lately. Today is the last day of his third antibiotic for ear infections and we go back to the Dr in two weeks to see if they have cleared up.

Last but not least, Cole's new favorite activity is "spraying" the sink and clean dishes with water. Thankfully he understands that the water has to stay in the sink, or we could have a real mess on our hands.

The binkie and the zoo

It looks like this outside, so any logical person would know that would mean we should head to the zoo. I had promised Cole a trip to the zoo, and he really didn't care that it's snowing/raining outside. So we headed out and surprisingly saw several other mommies of two boys at the zoo as well :)

In other news, E has finally realized the beauty that is a binkie!! He started taking one yesterday and we got the most sleep we have had in weeks last night. He has also had some of the best naps today with his new little friend. I have never been more excited for my child to get attached to something I will have to take away again fairly soon. We hope this is a sign of improving health (he is on ear infection #3 and yet another battle with croup) and a continued trend of sleeping.
