Hot Air Balloons

This past weekend there was a Hot Air Balloon show in Omaha. It was being held about half way between my work and home. So I got to see all the excitement on my way home from work Friday night. The balloons had already taken off so I followed a couple of them through the sky on my way home. Then I pulled into the neighborhood only to realize that one of them had actually LANDED in the neighbors front yard!! It was a pretty cool thing to watch them pack it up (it was already deflated by the time we saw it).

So then Saturday we were having dinner with Chris' family and shortly after the boys went to bed the balloons were back out in the sky. This time TWO of them landed in our neighbors yards and one actually landed in the cornfield just to the north of us. Thankfully, Allison had her camera and took some awesome pictures. After watching them land and get packed up, the girls decided to head over and see the glow.

Yes, Grandpa ate at the kids table :)

Sometimes there are perks to living in the middle of nowhere :)
