So I realize I haven't posted since the arrival of Easton...thought I should try and get some of the stories up before I forget them.
We had our first family-of-4 outing Tuesday afternoon to the zoo. We were trying to find a place to go that Cole would enjoy but wouldn't expose Easton to too many nasty bugs. The outdoors of the zoo on a wonderful 60 degree day was perfect. Plus, it had the added bonus of getting a little sun on Easton to help with the jaundice :) Cole had a blast climbing on the train (it was parked with no engine cause we got there too late to actually ride it), and the only animals we missed due to the time were the elephants (apparently they go to bed early). It was nice to get out and move a little and Cole really enjoyed the time with us. Easton pretty much slept through the whole thing, pausing briefly to eat once.
Then yesterday, Cole went to school while Chris and I worked on pouring a concrete slab in the backyard for the hot tub. Easton happily obliged our request for just an hour and slept for a little over 2 hours while we checked on him through the kitchen window. The cats were babysitting :)
This morning we couldn't decide what to do, until Chris suggested we go to Lowe's while we were watching the "dirt truck" re-grading our road. So, with a very excited Cole we packed up and headed to Lowe's and Menards. Easton didn't get to enjoy the Menards trip due to needing to eat just about the time we arrived. And, just for the record Cole knows the difference between Lowe's and Home Depot. He can spot a hardware store from a mile away in the car...and name it correctly!
That pretty much sums up our week. The agenda for tomorrow includes nap time and relaxing before Chris goes back to work and I figure out how things are going to work here at home with the boys by myself. So far Cole seems to be adjusting better than expected to the new addition and Easton has yet to be phased by the noise and poking while sleeping. We couldn't have asked for a better first week and thanks to everyone for your support :)
P.S. Pictures coming soon!!
Yay!!! Glad everyone is adjusting so well. The zoo sounds like fun! Can't wait to meet Easton some day! :D
