After three attempts, we finally managed to get our Christmas tree. However, Cole continues to call it "our Christmas treat." We kept telling him we were going to go out into the field and pick out our tree and I think he really thought we were going to be going into a field of rice krispie treats. We tried to go twice to the place we have always gone and they were closed for the night, then we tried a second 'cut your own tree' place and they were closed 'till next season.' So we ended up at one of the local nurseries where they actually had real reindeer running around!! Now we have had the tree in the family room for almost a week and are hoping to get it decorated this weekend...maybe we will have it finished by Christmas :)
In other news, I went back to work this week and we are all adjusting to the new routine. Easton has been doing great at daycare, despite refusing to take a bottle. Cole struggled with the change at the beginning of the week, but seems to be remembering what it's like to have Mommy at work again. However, Easton seems to have picked up the 'new daycare' cough, so we are hoping it is short lived and he starts feeling better soon.
This morning was spent exploring the trains at the Durham Museum here in Omaha. They have a giant tree set up for the holidays and a Santa and Mrs Clause to visit.
Cole had a blast playing on the trains but was not going to have anything to do with Santa. He would talk big about going to see/talk to him, but both times we tried to get him within 10 feet he freaked out.
Then he fell asleep while eating his chicken nugget on the way home...about 5 seconds after I took this picture, he dropped the nugget and his head slumped over to the side :)
